Simply Shipping Protection offers flexible insurance plans that allow you to charge a shipping protection fee from customers to cover any risks of lost, stolen, or damaged packages.

We provide two distinct types of protection fee structures to help you balance between flexibility, simplicity, and revenue protection based on your business model.

1️⃣ Fixed Plans

Fixed Plans allow you to charge a fixed protection fee based on cart value ranges. These plans are ideal for stores with predictable cart values or those who prefer fixed charges at different pricing tiers.

Why choose Fixed Plans?
✔ Best suited for stores with multiple cart value ranges
✔ Allows you to create up to 99 pricing tiers
✔ Ensures clear, upfront shipping protection costs for your customers

Example:

  • Cart value ₹0-₹500 → ₹19 protection

  • Cart value ₹501-₹1500 → ₹39 protection

How to create Fixed Plans:
1️⃣ Go to the Protection Fees section in the app.
2️⃣ Select Fixed Plan.
3️⃣ Choose plans based on cart value from the top-right dropdown.
4️⃣ Enter Minimum Cart Value and Maximum Cart Value, along with the protection fee to be collected.
5️⃣ Click on Calculate — the system will auto-generate up to 99 plans based on your input.

2️⃣ Percentage Plans

Percentage Insurance Plans calculate the protection fee as a percentage of the total cart value. The percentage fee increases in small increments depending on the order size, providing a flexible pricing structure.

Why choose Percentage Plans?
✔ Ideal for stores with varied cart values or frequent order amount fluctuations
✔ Automatically scales with order value
✔ Provides consistent proportional protection fees

Example:

  • Default Protection Fee: ₹5

  • Increment: ₹0.50 per range

  • Formula: Default Fee + (N * 0.50) up to the configured maximum

Note: If you notice the protection fee stops increasing after a certain cart value, Fixed Plans are recommended for higher-value orders.

 Global Rule

If no plan matches the customer’s cart, a Global Protection Fee applies. This is a fallback fixed amount you can define to ensure every order has coverage available.

✅ How to Set Up Percentage-Based Charges

1️⃣ Go to the Pricing Settings in the app dashboard.
2️⃣ Select Percentage-Based Pricing.
3️⃣ Enter the desired percentage (e.g., 2.5% of the order value).
4️⃣ Click Save to apply the changes.

✅ How to Set Up Fixed Charges

1️⃣ Navigate to the Pricing Settings in the app dashboard.
2️⃣ Select Fixed Charge.
3️⃣ Enter your desired fixed amount (e.g., ₹49, $3, etc.).
4️⃣ Click Save to finalize.
