Enable the Legacy Customer Accounts option in Shopify to configure your third-party OTP login portal. This guide walks you through switching from "Customer Accounts" to "Legacy" in settings and accessing the Legacy section in your site customization.
Step 1: Access Shopify Settings
Log in to your Shopify Admin Dashboard.
Navigate to Settings (bottom-left corner).
Select Customer Accounts from the menu.
Step 2: Switch to Legacy Customer Accounts
Under Login links, locate the Customer Accounts options.
Uncheck the Customer accounts (Recommended) option.
Check the Legacy option:
- Legacy allows customers to log in with email/password instead of one-time codes.
- This step ensures the Legacy option appears in your customization menu.Wait for confirmation that settings have been updated.
Step 3: Access Site Customization
Return to your Shopify Admin Dashboard.
Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize (for your active theme).
In the customization editor, Open the dropdown menu.
You will now see Legacy Customer Accounts listed (previously missing).
Once you've enabled Legacy Customer Accounts, your login page will now allow further customization. To set up SMS and WhatsApp Login, follow the necessary configuration steps in Lucent ‑ OTP Login & Notify portal.
