The Toggle Widget allows customers to opt in or out of shipping protection directly from the Cart Page, improving transparency and increasing opt-in rates.

 Step 1: Enable the Cart Page Widget

  In your Shopify Admin, go to:
Apps → Simply Shipping Protection → Settings → Widget

  In the Widget Visibility section, toggle the switch ON to activate the widget on your Cart Page.

  Under Layout Options, select Toggle.
This enables a checkbox style opt-in on the cart page.

Note: You can preview how it will appear in the Widget Preview section on the right.

 Step 2: Customize Appearance & Text

  Go to: Customize tab within the app settings.

  Edit the Title/Label for the toggle:
Example → “Add Shipping Protection for just ₹X”

  Customize styling:

  • Font Size & Weight

  • Button/Text Color & Hover Colors

  • Background Colors

  • Border Radius and Padding

  Use live preview to match your store’s branding.

 Step 3: Set Default Toggle Behavior

Decide whether the toggle should be:

  •  Checked by default (auto-opt-in): Encourages more customers to opt-in.

  •  Unchecked by default: Offers customers a choice by default, aligning with Shopify’s opt-in policy.


 Step 4: Manual Installation in the Theme (If Required)

If your theme’s Cart Page or Drawer doesn’t display the toggle widget automatically, manual installation may be necessary:

  Go to:
Online Store → Themes → Actions → Edit Code

  Find your cart template (e.g., cart.liquid or relevant snippet for cart drawer).

  Insert the following code where you want the toggle to appear:

Save your changes and preview the Cart Page to ensure proper placement.

  Step 5: Test the Setup

  Add a product to your cart.

  Visit the Cart Page and verify:

  • The toggle appears.

  • Toggling it adds/removes the protection fee in real-time.

  Test across desktop, mobile, and any mini-cart/cart drawer views.
