The Simply Shipping Protection app allows you to configure how much you want to charge customers for shipping protection. You can set this as a percentage of the cart total or as a fixed fee for specific cart values.

 Step 1: Navigate to Protection Fee Settings

Go to your Shopify Admin → Apps → Simply Shipping Protection.
Click on Settings from the left-hand menu.
Select Protection Fees to open the configuration options.

 Step 2: Choose Fees Type

You can set fees in two ways:

  Option 1: Percentage-Based Charges

  • Description: Adds a percentage (%) of the cart total as the shipping protection fee.

  • When to Use: Best if you want the protection fee to scale with the order value.

  • How to Set It Up:

    1. Under Fees Type, select Percentage.

    2. Enter the Default Fee (optional, for fallback or minimum fee).

    3. Enter the Percentage Fee (e.g., 10 for 10%).

    4. The system automatically generates up to 99 variants for smoother matching, each increasing by 0.50.

  • Example: ₹1000 cart → 10% → ₹100 protection.

  Option 2: Fixed Charges

  • Description: Adds a specific flat rate regardless of the order total.

  • When to Use: Best if you prefer simple, predictable protection pricing.

  • How to Set It Up:

    1. Under Fees Type, select Fixed.

    2. Click Create Plan to define ranges:

      • Min Cart Value

      • Max Cart Value

      • Insurance Fees

    3. Optionally, use Generate by Cart Value for automatic plans, or Import CSV for bulk plans.

  • Example: ₹0 - ₹0 → ₹10.00 flat rate.

  Step 3: Preview Widget

  • The Widget Preview on the right gives an example of how the charges will display on your checkout button.

  • Note: The preview is a mockup; actual appearance depends on your Shopify theme and customization.

 Step 4: Save Your Changes

  • After setting up your fee structure, don’t forget to click Save in the top right corner.
