The Checkbox Widget lets customers easily opt in for shipping protection during checkout. This is a great way to increase opt-in rates and offer peace of mind right before customers place their orders.

⚠️ Important:
This feature is only available for Shopify Plus stores due to Shopify's restrictions on modifying the Checkout Page.


 Step-by-Step Setup Instructions:

1. Ensure You Are on a Shopify Plus Plan

  • Only Shopify Plus merchants have access to edit the checkout layout through the theme editor.

2. Go to Your Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes

  • In your Shopify dashboard, click on Online Store and then Themes.

  • Under your live theme, click the “Customize” button.

3. Navigate to the Checkout Page Layout

  • In the top page selector dropdown, choose: Home page > Checkout and customer accounts > Checkout

4. Add the App Block for Simply Shipping Protection

  • On the left-side panel, click “Add Block” in the Checkout section.

  • A popup will appear showing available app blocks.

  • Select Simply Shipping Protection from the list.

  • The checkbox widget will now appear in your checkout layout.

5. Save Your Changes

  • After placing the widget block in your preferred position, click Save in the top-right corner.

  • You can preview the checkout flow to ensure the checkbox is displaying correctly.


 Tips:

  • You can further customize the text, style, and logic of the checkbox widget from the Simply Shipping Protection app dashboard → Customize section.

  • Combine this with a tooltip for clarity (e.g., “Covers loss, theft, or damage during shipping.”)
